Sacred Heart on the South Hill

This is an August 2009 view of Sacred Heart Hospital on the north side of Spokane's "South Hill." I am standing at the edge of the rimrock west of the city limits.

Rimrock on a cloudy day in August

This is part of the road above the Rimrock. August 2009. It is an area at the edge of the Spokane city limits. The place is beautiful. One wonders why there are so few people here. It is because the mass of human kind finds no real pleasure in the solitude of nature? Perhaps.

Road Crosses

More and more one sees a marker of some kind near a roadway to tell of a death nearby. In the West one sees this more and more. These markers are ways of saying goodbye to the loved one. These are public remembrances. When we pass them we also say goodbye to our loved ones who have passed.

Latah Creek

Latah Creek a few yards upstream from its confluence with the Spokane River. The water is considerably warmer than the water of the river. It is clear.
