Rimrock Drive: Fire Season

Spokane -- The Fires of August
This is a picture taken about 5:30 PM a couple of weeks ago. Fires were burning about 60 miles and about 180 miles from Spokane to the west. This is not an unusual phenomenon. But for the smoke and the rather pleasant burning forest smell the sky would be clear and the air clean.
